Trip on the GWSR
Linton History Society are arranging a trip on the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway on Wednesday 15th May, and have invited Probus members to join this outing. Coach pickup is at Ross then Newent to Cheltenham Racecourse, then by train to the new terminus at Broadway. After lunch and sightseeing the coach will return us home. It is possible to split the journey at Todding-ton to see the workshops and museum, continuing on a later train.
Just to remind you that our coach will leave the Wilton Bridge Riverside car park, Ross-on-Wye at 9.35am and Lewall St car park, Newent at 9.50am. We should arrive at Cheltenham Race Course station at 10.30 am, for the 10.50 train to Broadway.
On arrival at Broadway it is a 10-15 minute level walk into the village, but there is also a shuttle service (eight-seater minibus) cost £2 single, £3 return. I will ask the coach driver if he can pick us up in Broadway village, if not he will be at Broadway station at 2.30pm.
