Mr. Summers is Services Director of the railway management company. His talk covers the rise, decline and reconstruction, as a heritage steam railway, of the last cross country main line built by the Great Western Railway in the early 1900’s. The line provided a direct route from the midlands to the West Country to compete with the Midland Railway’s route and is now one of the longest heritage railways in the country.
